I've just convened a symposium called Sound As Consequence at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne. The central idea has been to frame sound practice as an action - between people, between places - and thus a dynamic means of critique. I gave a paper alongside Joel Stern (speaking on expanded sound practice), follwed by a roundtable with Eric Demetriou, Camilla Hannan, Thembi Soddell and Danae Valenza, There were also two outstanding performances - Eric Demetriou and Herbert Jercher, and Thembi Soddell - which were among the scariest I've experienced in a long time.
