HARVARD TALK

I have just returned from presenting a paper at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts. My presentation was called Pop Will Eat Itself: Hidden Cycles of Exchange in Contemporary Sound. I invoked several artists from the past two decades who foreground the implicit economies behind sound practice. They include the legendary K Foundation who burnt their entire music fortune (a million pounds, at 1994 rates!), the Australian sound art duo Ur 1st Luv and German composer Johannes Kriedler (pictured). You can read an earlier version of my paper published by the excellent Runway Australian Experimental Art journal.
